4D LiDAR security that sees in total darkness

At the core of every Turova system is the Unitree L2 — a compact 4D LiDAR that maps the world around your van in 3D, day or night, fog or glare. Here's exactly what it does and what it costs you in power.

Why 4D LiDAR

Distance, shape and motion — not just a picture

A camera guesses depth from a flat image. 4D LiDAR measures it directly: every point carries true distance plus a grayscale value, so Turova knows how far away something is, how big it is, and which way it's moving.

  • Works in zero light

The sensor supplies its own laser light — total darkness is no obstacle.

  • Centimeter-accurate

±2 cm ranging out to 30 m means a person is unmistakable from a branch.

  • 360° × 96° coverage

Ultra-wide scanning sees nearly everything around and above the van.

Power calculations

What it actually costs you off-grid

The math that matters when your only power comes from a battery and a panel. The L2 draws ~10 W; here's how that adds up for each Turova system.

The formula: watts × hours = watt-hours (Wh). A 100Ah / 12V LiFePO₄ battery holds roughly 1,280 Wh of usable energy. A 100W solar panel harvests on the order of 300–500 Wh on a decent day.

Peak (active detection + cold-weather self-heating): up to ~36 W for short bursts.

~264 Wh
overnight only (12h armed)

A single 100Ah battery runs the Base system for ~2.4 days with no sun at all. One 200W panel more than offsets its daily draw — in practice it disappears into a typical van solar setup.

Stealth is built for bigger rigs with bigger banks. We recommend 200Ah+ lithium and 400W+ solar for round-the-clock watching, or a smaller setup if you only arm it overnight.

Battery-friendly

A configurable low-power floor means Turova never takes your house bank below a level you set.

Solar-first

Event-driven recording and adaptive scanning keep average draw low so modest solar keeps you topped up.

You set the rules

Watch continuously, or only when armed overnight — tune the tradeoff between coverage and runtime.

Figures are engineering estimates and vary with temperature, sensor count, model size and your battery/solar hardware. We'll size your exact build during the install consult.

Two ways to mount it

On a mast, or hidden in the body

Base · roof mast

A discreet, retractable mast lifts one L2 and a 360° camera above the roofline for an unobstructed surround view from a single head.

See the Base package

Stealth · embedded

Multiple L2 units and night cameras hide inside the body — front, rear and both sides — for full 360° rendering with no visible hardware.
