Security built by people who actually camp off-grid
Turova started in a van at 2am, a long way from any help — and the unsettling realization that nothing on the market was built for that moment.
It started with a sound outside the van
Our founders were full-time travelers and engineers — one building robots, one building computer-vision systems. On a remote night with no cell signal, a stranger circled the van. The cloud camera was offline. The motion light had been ignoring deer all week. Nothing actually helped.
It turned out the same technology that lets a self-driving car see in the dark — LiDAR, thermal, edge AI — could fit in a van and run off a leisure battery. So we built it. First for ourselves, then for the friends who kept asking, and now for anyone who sleeps where there's no one to call.
Turova exists to give that confidence back: detect early, confirm honestly, respond instantly, and keep your data yours.
The principles behind the product
Privacy by default
Your footage stays in your van unless you choose otherwise. On-device first, always.
Trust over noise
An alarm you can ignore is worse than none. We obsess over killing false alarms.
Built for the wild
If it doesn't work with no signal and no shore power, it isn't finished.
Own it, don't rent it
No mandatory subscriptions. You buy the hardware and it's truly yours.
Small team, lots of miles
Engineers and travelers who test everything we build in the places it's meant to work.
We'd love to hear how you travel
Field feedback shapes everything we ship. Tell us about your rig, your routes and what keeps you up at night — literally.
